General Dentistry is the branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, the maxillofacial area and the adjacent and associated structures, and their impact on the human body. To the layman, dentistry tends to be perceived as being focused primarily on human teeth, though it is not limited strictly to this. Dentistry is widely considered necessary for complete overall health. Doctors who practice dentistry are known as dentists. The dentist’s supporting team – which includes dental assistants, dental hygienists, dental technicians, and dental therapists – aids in providing oral health services.
State of the Art Dental Technology
Candlewood Dental Care uses only state of the art equipment. We use a Intra-Oral Camera- this is new technology that allows the dentist to take a still picture of a tooth or area in the mouth so the patient can see what is going on in their oral cavity. We also use a Velscope which is new technology that uses a special wavelength of light to illuminate improperly dividing cells.as the link between oral cancer and the HPV virus becomes more prominent it is vital to get an annual oral cancer screening.
