Digital radiograph or better known as Digital X-rays use cone technology with decreased radiation exposure than film radiographs. The radiation is directed toward just the area of concern. An old film X-ray releases .5mrem of radiation while a digital film releases .1mrem. You are exposed to 1mrem of radiation by being on an airplane for two hours!
